Role Overview and Key Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Depot Manager, the Shift Controller will oversee daily warehouse activities to ensure smooth inbound and outbound product movements. You will coordinate picking, staging, loading, and unloading processes to meet on-time delivery targets and maintain optimal turnaround times on site.

Ensure accurate picking, staging, and loading of products aligned with the daily load plan for timely outbound shipments.

Manage receiving, counting, and unloading of inbound products with precision.

Maintain timely replenishment of picking and staging areas to avoid workflow disruptions.

Adhere strictly to Best Before Dates (BBDs) and apply FIFO/FEFO principles during loading and stock rotation.

Enforce warehouse layout compliance and stacking requirements for all products, containers, and support materials.

Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure smooth stock removal and pallet feeding without disrupting production processes.

Lead efforts to reduce breakages, manage load accuracy, and meet operational efficiency standards.

Promote a workplace culture of dignity, respect, and continuous improvement.

Maintain excellent warehouse housekeeping and safety standards.

Qualifications and Experience Required

Candidates applying for warehouse shift controller jobs in Lusaka should meet the following criteria:

Minimum Grade 12 (O level) with at least 5 credits.

A diploma in Supply Chain Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

Membership in professional supply chain or procurement bodies is mandatory.

3 to 5 years of warehousing or logistics experience within an FMCG environment.

Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset, especially in service to drivers.

Proven ability to resolve conflicts, work independently, and maintain high accuracy.

Forklift license is advantageous but not required.

Demonstrated self-motivation, discipline, and ethical conduct.
